Cleaning Services FAQs

Environmentally friendly janitorial commercial cleaning that is tailored to meet your needs.

What does “clean” and cross-contamination mean?

We all have our idea of what “clean” is. In the past, if a facility looked and smelled clean, then it was thought to be clean. Even if a facility looks and smells clean, it is not clean until you have killed and removed germs. This is one of the most common Cleaning Services FAQs. Cross-contamination is spreading germs from one part of the facility to another. For example, if you clean the toilets with a cloth, then use the same cloth to clean the kitchen tables, you could spread germs from the restroom to the kitchen. Another common source of cross-contamination in office cleaning services is mopping. If you dip a string mop into a bucket of water that is dirty from use in another area, then you continue to spread germs from floor to floor.

Are germs harmful?

Germs are everywhere, and you cannot see or smell them. While most germs are harmless, some can make people sick. Viruses cause illnesses such as cold and flu. Bacteria are found on almost every surface and can cause infections, diarrhea, and illness. Fungus and mold live in warm, moist areas such as showers, restrooms, kitchens, and near windows. They can cause skin infections and breathing problems.

How is a HEPA-Backpack vacuum different?

HEPA stands for High-Efficiency Particulate Air. This technology allows the vacuum to help improve air quality by removing dust and allergens from the air. These powerful, yet quiet machines, capture 99.97% of airborne particles as small as .3 microns. Traditional upright or canister vacuums only remove about half the particles so they leave a lot of dust in the air which settles back on furniture, fixtures, and floors. And since the vacuum is worn on the back it allows for quicker movement and more efficient cleaning.

Some cool tips you should know

01.

What are hospital-grade disinfectants?

To “disinfect” means to kill germs (a disinfectant). Different disinfectants kill different kinds of germs. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), a hospital-grade disinfectant kills three specific types of germs: Staph, Pseudomonas, and Salmonella. These 3 pathogens cover the broad scope of germ-killing that is required in hospital and healthcare facilities.

02.

Do microfiber towels make a difference?

This is a popular Cleaning Services FAQ. Microfiber towels might look like regular towels, but they’re not. If you look at them closely with a microscope, you’ll see channels that have the amazing ability to grab and hold dirt, germs, and water. Microfiber is available in many colors. Our process uses specific colors for specific cleaning tasks to prevent cross-contamination.

03.

Why is no-dip mopping important?

Our mopping system ensures that mops are never dipped into dirty water. This significantly reduces cross-contamination. Also, microfiber mop pads pick up more dirt than traditional string mops and the mop design makes it easier to get in corners and hard to reach places.

How is Lions LLC eco-friendly?

This is one Cleaning Services FAQ that our clients take care of. Lions LLC believes that creating a cleaner, healthier environment and providing an eco-friendly commercial cleaning program are compatible goals. TheLions LLC program recommends Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide (AHP) as a hospital-grade disinfectant that uses hydrogen peroxide as its active ingredient and is very effective at killing germs. The color-coded microfiber towels and mop pads use up to 90% less cleaning solution than cotton clothes and can be washed and reused up to 500 times. HEPA filtration vacuums help improve air quality by capturing airborne particles as small as .3 microns. A no-dip flat mopping system with a self-dispensing bucket uses less water and cleaning solution than a traditional string mop and bucket and reduces cross-contamination.
